I offer kiln firing services for pottery you've made at home at my studio in Paremoremo, North Shore, Auckland
I do two types of firings, bisque & glaze
Bisque firing is when your air dried clay gets fired to 1000°c ready to then add glaze.
Glaze firing is when you've glazed your pieces and this is the final firing to 1210°c before it's completed & ready to use.
My standard glaze firing temperature is Cone 6, mid firing which is labelled on your materials. I can provide more informaiton around this if you need help. I can also do higher or lower temp firings by request.

How does it work?
1. You'll need the name of the clay & glaze you've used to make a firing booking. This can easily be found on the labels of the products. Your pieces need to be bone dry before you drop them off.
2. Message me with your information, as well as number of pieces and I'll provide you with the drop of address & time frame. Cost will be confirmed once I see what needs to be fired.
3. I will contact you once your pieces have been fired and are ready for collection. Payment will need to be made before collection.
Cost:
$30 per shelf per firing. This is the minimum charge.
The shelf diameter is 39cm. I can offer a cheaper rate for filling an entire kiln - Depending on the height of your pieces, I can fit 3-4 shelves of mugs in a single firing for example.

Extra info:
You'll be required to sign a waiver before your pieces are fired, as unfortunately ceramic firing can be unpredictable. Risks are breaking, cracking, warping & explosions if your pieces haven't been correctly dried and dripping & warping of the glaze. I don't take any responsibility for unexpected results after firing.
